The Powerhouse Museum Alliance paper: The proposed move of the Powerhouse Museum to Parramatta has unleashed a passionate debate about cultural equity. This is overdue. However the faux privileged east versus deprived west construct around cultural equity for western Sydney misses bigger and more substantial issues in museum policy for NSW.

POWERHOUSE MUSEUM ALLIANCE ... Click Here
The Powerhouse Museum Alliance is a group of concerned citizens working to save the Powerhouse Museum in Ultimo. The Alliance includes longstanding benefactors of the museum, former trustees, design and heritage experts and senior museum professionals ..... The PMA strongly supports the development of a new museum in Parramatta. We ask the government to develop a coherent museum plan for NSW for the 21st century, underpinned by principles of equity and access to collections, and addressing glaring omissions in the profile of museums in NSW.
10 REASONS TO SAVE THE POWERHOUSE MUSEUM ... Click Here
The NSW Government had a $2.1 billion surplus in 2014-15 and an $863m stamp duty windfall. Surpluses are projected to increase. There is no need to sell the PHM at Ultimo. Good governments expand museums and cultural opportunities. The government has the funds in its $600m cultural infrastructure budget to build a new museum in Parramatta without selling off the PHM at Ultimo. Spending some of this money on a new museum in Western Sydney is simply a question of priority

DISCUSSION PAPER:THE ALIGNMENT FACTOR – Leveraging The Power Of Total Stakeholder Support ... Click Here  ... " Organizations are lost without the full support of key stakeholders both inside and outside of its four walls. Support from employees is reflected in a high degree of motivation, which in turn stimulates the productivity that drives financial performance. Similar proof points confi rm the value of symbiotic relationships with the external world. When the viewpoints of outside stakeholders are in sync with a company’s strategic intents, the benefi ts are clear. For example, the organization may have access to cheaper capital from a lender and lower transaction costs from vendors and contractors who enjoy doing business with a trusted partner. An admired workplace also attracts the most talented workers who make products that customers not only purchase, but also rate highly—and this is critical in an era of social media where offline is non-existent. Perhaps most important, when elected officials and regulators view an organization in a favorable light, it has earned a sustainable and unrestricted “license to operate.”
